Not feeling well? In Australia, you’ll have plenty of support to get you back on your feet and in good health.

Who do I see if I’m sick?

If you’re sick, head to the nib App. From here, you’ll be able to book an appointment with a General Practitioner (also known as a GP). A GP is a doctor who is licensed to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions and illnesses. You can speak to a GPs online via telehealth (which involves a phone or video-call with a doctor and completing your appointment remotely), which can be easily arranged through the nib App, or in person at medical clinics.

You can also organise a medical certificate, which you may need to show your education provider or employer to prove your illness. If you’d prefer an in-person appointment, use our Find a Provider tool to search nib’s network of health professionals in your area. Visits to your GP are covered by nib Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
